Newsflash

There are many ways to store things in your home, or in places like garages and even other peoples homes. If there is a way to store things, I have tried it. I have such limited space that I use space saving items all over my home, and I have had to hand some things over to relatives to keep for me until I live in a larger place. When I have things that are out in the open, I find that those spaces start to look cluttered, and makes the room too crazy. I can’t store these things away because I use them, so I have gotten some storage baskets to keep these things hidden and organized.

What I love about storages baskets is that they look good in almost any décor. You can get them with various shades of stain to match your home, and you can also get some with liners in colors that will match what you have done with any room. You can leave storage baskets sitting in places where you would never consider leaving any other type of storage container. They come in very small sizes, and you can also get some that are much larger. The strength of the wood used for these will determine how big they can really get.

I use a few different types of storage baskets. I have some that have had a different use in a past life. Many of them once held fresh flowers, or came with many great little gifts in them in the form of gift baskets. Most of them were too pretty to throw out, so I decided to keep them as storage baskets. They don’t always last long, but it is nice to get some more use out of them after their initial use is over. These baskets for storage come in many sizes, but most are what would be considered small. They are great for odds and ends, change, and spare gloves.

Other storage baskets are ones you will buy in the store or you will find online. They are most often square, and that is probably a good thing. They may even come in sets of three or four baskets that you can stack within one another when you are not using them to store anything. Some come with lids, but many of the smaller ones will not. What you want to use them for is up to you, but you will be surprised at the difference they can make in a room, especially when you have limited space, and clutter can really begin to take over your life if you are not careful.

What does stock 101 homework entail?
Written by Steve Samuel
Monday, 21 April 2008

There isn’t a stock 101 guide out there that wouldn’t include stock homework as a rule.  There isn’t a stock 101 teacher that would leave out stock homework as one of their most important lessons.  As you can tell, I’m trying to say that stock 101 homework is extremely important to being a successful investor.  The stock knowledge gained by all investors, including beginner stock investors, is so crucial.  Everything in investing begins and ends with doing homework; to buy a stock you need to have the right stock knowledge and the same goes for selling a stock.  Don’t try to short cut anything; a smart investor is a hard working investor.

What should beginner stock investors look for to do solid stock 101 homework?  In terms of what specific stock knowledge you should gain, research the company’s background information, fundamentals, history, future plans and expectations.   If you stay within a beginner stock investing level, you’ll be fine.  Don’t get too complicated.  You’ll learn the details later as you gain more experience and more stock knowledge.

This will give you a better understanding of what stock knowledge you should be looking for:
1) Background info – products or services, target markets, competitors, etc.
2) Fundamentals – balance sheet, income statement, financial ratios
3) Future Plans – research and development, any new products coming soon, cutting costs, planning and mergers or acquisitions (growth), etc.
4) Expectations – read analyst reports

When you gather all this stock knowledge, compare it to their competitors.  This is a stock 101 rule that will tell you where the company stands in their industry. Also, compare your company to the other elite company’s in the industry and see how far away they are.  Many stock 101 guides won’t recommend this because it can get complicated, but you’ll be able to tell where a company is heading in the future.  I especially recommend this for beginner stock investors because it’ll give them more stock knowledge, making their decision easier.

Alright, get to it.  I know doing your stock 101 homework can be boring but after the first few times you’ll get use to it.  And once that money starts rolling in, you’ll forget about the boredom.  Just make sure you do quality homework and make sure you do enough homework to gain the best stock knowledge for your success.

If you found this stock 101 lesson to be helpful and wish to learn more about beginner stock investing, please visit my website.  My site contains valuable stock knowledge including beginner stock investing rules and tips that I’ve learned from my 20 years in the stock market.  Click here for stock 101.

Carnival Glass - The History
Written by Ray Lafferty
Friday, 07 March 2008

Carnival Glass, originally called Iridescent Ware, first came out in late 1907. It was not commonly referred to as Carnival Glass until the 1950s, though, when collectors started calling it that. These pieces were typically made from extremely ornate glass pieces, characterized by the myriad hues of their sheens. Their luster was achieved by applying metallic salt sprays to the glass before it had completely cooled down.

Made as both functional and ornamental objects and found in a wide array of colors, carnival glass is an inexpensive pressed glass, often called dope glass by glass factory workers because of the process of applying the iridescent coloring, which is known as doping. Its production can be traced back to as early as 1907, with many, many different pieces in over 150 distinct patterns. It did not, however, command the expected prices, and was subsequently discounted heavily.

The glass is produced in various translucent colors. Primarily amongst these are amethyst, marigold, cobalt, green, and red. Sometimes it is also made in opaque white which is called milk glass. A semi-transparent or translucent pale-green hue was also available before the widespread knowledge of radiation hazards. this glass was called Vaseline or uranium glass. Both of these contain traces of uranium salts which gives the glass a faint green glow when exposed to UV light.

Millersburg glass Company, Ohio was one of the largest producers of this kind of glass. Though the first glass product of the company were crystal, the Millersburg plant decided to produce iridescent glassware looking to the popularity of it. In this way the Millersburg Company brought out its line of Radium glassware.

Carnival glass has become a popular item for collectors. Some pieces are worth pennies, but hard-to-find pieces can bring in hundreds or even thousands of dollars, making for a wide range in prices. The market is jumping for this antique glass collectible .

The identification of the glass of carnival is as an operation much difficult one. Great part of the suppliers has not included the mark of the creator in their product, while the others have made therefore only for the part of the time that have produced the glass. In order to identify this glass, one must bind together the models, colors, splendor, edges, thickness and other factors from catalogue of the old supplier, other known examples, or the other material of reference. From many suppliers the produced near copies of the popular models of theirs available again, identifying it are a challenge also for an expert.

Carnival glass or Iridescent Ware was introduced in 1907 and had a metallic sheen from a spray of salts when hot. This inexpensive pressed glass, also known as dope glass is made for functional/ornamental objects. Due to lack of demand price was discounted. Available colors are primarily amethyst/marigold/cobalt/green/red. Vaseline or uranium glass had uranium salts and hence was discontinued. Millersburg glass Company was the greatest producer of this type of glass. Initially this was made as crystal and later on as iridescent glassware. The prices vary depending on their quality/availability. This is antique glass collectible and has market. Identification of this glass is based on patterns/colors/sheen/edges/thickness etc.

Carnival Glass Bowls An Overnight Hit
Written by Mimi Arrow
Thursday, 06 March 2008

Carnival glass bowls are part of a larger collection of collectable items called carnival glass. Carnival glass is an inexpensive pressed glass to which an iridescent coating has been applied, giving it an oil-like sheen. The process is sometimes known as doping, leading some glass manufacturers to call it "dope glass". It originated in the early 1900s, and production waned in the mid to late thirties.

The Fenton company is largely recognized as the first and largest producer of carnival glass. Fenton began life as a company that decorated blank glass produced by other companies. In 1907 they began creating their own carnival glass, which was initially marketed as "Iridill," or, more simply, iridescent ware when Feton glassware began production. It was an overnight hit and many other companies began turning out and marketing their own carnival glass bowls.

The demand for their products began to decline in the late twenties. The reason for the decline was the decreasing sales during the depresion and partly also due to the saturation of the market by glass companies. To reduce the dead stock companies began to sell their wares at deeply discounted prices to carnivals, which was used by the carnivals as prizes in their games. During this period many companies shut shop.

Carnival glass bowls experienced resurgence in popularity during the fifties. The term "carnival glass" was given to these items by the collectors after learning of their term as carnival prizes. Reproduction of carnival glass bowls were started by many companies. To this day carnival glass, particularly antique Fenton glass, is a prized collectable

If you're looking for carnival glass, your best bet presently would be auctions, antique shops or online for various prices. Fenton antique glass in particular fetches high prices, along with other popular carnival glass. Marigold and dark hues - such as blue and green - are some of the most common colors. Red pastel colored carnival glass bowls are the most prized and expensive variety. One rare ice-blue colored plate in particular sold for an amazing $16,327.55 on a popular auction website!

These are many ways to collect more information about antique collectibles- books, websites, newsletters, and other documents will help any interested person find out about the designs, shapes, and sizes of antiques available. Many organizations are devoted to bringing collectors together to help them learn more about collecting.

Carnival glass bowls are a highly collectible type of glass. They were produced by covering glass with an iridescent, shiny coating. The largest producer of carnival glass was Fenton. Fenton glassware quickly became popular, and other companies started producing carnival glass as well. Due to market saturation and the Great Depression, demand for carnival glass declined sharply in the late 1920s. Today, antique Fenton glass in particular is sought after by collectors, with red and pastel colored pieces considered the most valuable. Many resources are available for those new to collecting, such as websites and books with information on the various types of carnival glass.

Silver Dollar Coins To Collect And Trade
Written by Yaz Mourrin
Thursday, 28 February 2008

Many people like to collect silver dollar coins. These days, silver dollars are rare, and finding one can be a rewarding experience for some. Others, of course, will simply spend any dollars they come into contact with, regardless of what kind!

In the late 19th century, a silver dollar known as the Morgan dollar was put into use. This characterizes of an eagle on one side and the face of Miss Liberty on the other side. Due to the weedy looks of the eagle in the coin, it is sometimes referred to as the "buzzard dollar". The production of Morgan dollar coins stopped in 1921, but even now they are worth collecting.

There are some people trade coins to enhance their collection. Collectors may have a coin that is needed to complete a collection, so they will inquire about what they need from other coin collectors and offer up what they have. To trade dollar coins, one needs to possess a rare coin of your own. Most collectors have multiple dollar coins, including duplicates, so they never lose the coin for their own collection.

There are many beautiful silver dollar coins. Silver dollars are worth quite a bit more than coins made primarily of copper, and they generally look better. The United States Government issues many commemorative silver dollar coins for limited periods of time, allowing collectors to save these coins and trade them later after they are no longer minted.

The older and rarer a coin, the more that coin is worth. If you have a coin that is extremely rare, it doesn't really matter what condition it is in. If you have a coin that is less rare, its condition will matter and the better it looks, the more money it will be worth. A Morgan dollar that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition will command a lot of money because it is not only a rare coin, but it is in perfect condition.

Researching silver dollar coins extensively is one of the smartest things you can do if you are thinking about collecting and trading them. Increasing your knowledge about silver dollar coins will enable you to manage your collection of silver dollar coins wisely.

Collecting and trading silver dollar coins is a hobby many people enjoy. Such coins are rare nowadays and finding them may seem special to some. For others, a dollar is a dollar and when a silver coin comes their way, they simply spend it! Morgan silver dollars were placed into circulation in the late 19th century. The production of morgan dollar coins was stopped by the US government in 1921 and are now highly prized collectibles. Collectors usually trade dollar coins and other collectible coins for coins of similar value or mostly just because they want to upgrade their collection.

Car Stereo Cd Changers - Today's Options
Written by Adam Mantle
Wednesday, 27 February 2008

When putting together your audio system, please bear in mind that speakers are not the only audio components you should focus on. Subwoofers can attract your attention, along with amplifiers, mixers and other components, with each component having its band of supporters and detractors. But don't forget about the audio cables, they are often overlooked, and using poor quality cables will take down the sound quality of your entire system.

The cable is probably the most vital piece of your entire audio system. Sure, it sounds unimportant, but without cables your system cannot possibly work. Cables physically connect the pieces of your system and provide electricity to all of the components. So when you are building your system, make sure that each audio cablethat you use is in good working order and of the best quality.

There are several things to consider when you are purchasing cables. Among these considerations are; wire gauge, connector type, and brand name. There are other important factors but they are more for the extremely adept technical people. If you are uncertain about anything, ask a professional for help.

Wire gauge is a measure of how much electrical current your cables are able to carry. It also tells you how large in diameter they are. Keep in mind that a higher wire gauge actually corresponds to a smaller wire. When buying audio cables, you do not necessarily need an extremely high wire gauge. If your speakers do not require much power, you will just be wasting your money and electricity to get a very high gauge wire.

You will want to make certain that the cable you buy has the proper connector type. There are numerous different audio cables connectors available, however they will not work with all products. Examine your speakers and other devices to see which connectors they need. When you find what you need, make sure it is not flimsy, it needs to be well constructed.

Lastly, common sense says that audio cables from a reputable company are always a better bet. Smaller companies don't necessarily make bad products, but why not choose the company that has years of experience and quality reputation behind it. Toslink audio cables are one of these respected brands.

We're afraid that we've made shopping for cables sound like much more work than it is. It's generally easy to find a cable that will suit your needs. Make sure that it does suit your needs and improve your sound; if it doesn't, you can replace it whenever you feel the need. After a little trial and error, you will have exactly the cables you need to optimize your system. Have fun!

Though speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers and the like in an audio system get the most attention, a high quality audio cable is also equally important for superior performance. Some of the factors to consider when buying audio cables are wire gauge, brand name and connector type. The audio cable connectors should be of the right technical specifications. The wire gauge is the cable's width, which should be selected based on the current carrying capacity needed by the audio system. Well known brands like toslink audio cables offer a wide range of quality products to choose from.

Tankless Water Heaters Helps To Save Money
Written by Jim Ayala
Tuesday, 26 February 2008

One does not use the hot water 24 hours a day. But, one ends up paying to heat water 24 hours a day. With a standard water heater, one heat and reheat the same water even when he is not using it.

If you want to heat water efficiently, use Bosch Powerstar tankless water heater. It heats instantly and gives you abundantand fast hot water flow in no time. A purchaser of a Bosch Powerstar Heater pays only for heating water and no other thing at all.

A demand hot water heater doesn't heat water until it is needed, which results in lower energy costs and greater efficiency. A tankless water heater will usually last for at least fifteen years, and its life can be extended even further with just a few easily obtainable replacement parts.

Conversely, the traditional storage water heaters don't last for nearly as long. Regular maintenance to your heater can be highly beneficial to how long your heater lasts and can maintain its efficiency level for as long as possible. Tankless water heaters work by an electric, gas, or propane heating section that is activated by water flow.

When the heater's on, it produces a constant supply of hot water. The maximum amount of hot water flow at any given temperature that it can support depends on the heater's capacity. Gas water heaters usually have a larger capacity than tankless electric water heaters do.

Tankless water heaters are evaluated by the greatest rate of current at which a preferred temperature is encountered. Water heater features include the ability to set a release temperature. There is also a much higher rate of effectiveness with tankless water heaters as it reduces the possibility of standby losses.

Tankless water heaters obtain their maximum flow rate at the point when the target maximum temperature is met. Standard water heaters (tanked) lose energy heating the water when waiting for usage by the consumer. This is not the case for tankless where its efficiency is much higher because it is only heating the water as needed. During usage the temperature can be changed by the user to meet their needs.

If you think about it, paying for hot water continuously throughout all 24 hours of the day doesn't really make sense. A cost-effective and waste-minimizing way to heat your home is the Bosch Powerstar Tankless Water Heater. After triggering the mechanism, the heater continues to provide a flow of hot water. A demand hot water heater doesn't heat water until it is needed. Tankless water heaters are rated by the way of maximum flow rate at which a desired temperature rise is met. People shopping for tankless quite often choose to buy Bosch Powerstar tankless heater.

Unusual Sports - Rabbit Exhibition
Written by Bill Brennan
Tuesday, 26 February 2008

What began over one hundred years ago as a branch of livelihood for livestock breeders alike, has found it’s way into today as one of the most rewarding and fun of all animal sports, especially prominent in 4-H. Rabbit exhibition began when breeders devoted their attentions to producing supreme animals with greater survivability and superior physical attributes. Breeders would display their rabbits for judging, the winners would then be returned to the farm and begin their life propagating offspring that would improve generation after generation, arriving at the diverse and hardy breeds we have today. The American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) is the largest sanctioning organization for both Canada and the United States. Over 43 domestic rabbit breeds are recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association in several colors and varieties.

The are two basic types of shows; carrying case, the most common and cooped shows. Cooped shows supply the cages for your rabbits. These shows are generally several days in duration, like fairs or the American Rabbits Breeders Association convention. Carrying case shows last only one or two days in duration. The rabbit spends its time within the case except during times of grooming or the judges table. Unlike some animal breed shows, a pedigree is not necessary to show your rabbit, however, the rabbit must be tattooed inside of the left ear before being permitted to show. In the case of three major wins which entitles the rabbit for a Grand Championship title, the rabbit must at least possess a three generation pedigree for pure blood assurance. Rabbits may be registered once evaluated and approved by an ARBA licensed registrar, in which case, the registration number will be recorded with the ARBA and tattooed within the right ear for permanent identification.

There are three age classes in which rabbits are shown. Classes include Senior, Junior and Intermediate. Junior refers to a rabbit that is under the age of six month. The Intermediate age range refers to the age of heavy weight breeds also known as six class animals, meaning an ideal weight of nine pounds or over and between six and eight months. Senior is over the age of six months for four class rabbits and for six class rabbits over eight months of age. There are three distinct color categories; Broken, Variety and Solids. Solid is any breed color that extends throughout the rabbits entire body, some examples include shaded self, self and pointed whites. Broken is a breed color in combination with white, black and white being one example. Variety refers to the color the rabbit is, like black, broken, opal, etc.

There are five wins that may be obtained; Best of Variety (BOV), Best Opposite Sex of Variety (BOSV), Best Opposite Sex of Breed (BOSB), Best of Breed (BOB) and the coveted Best in Show (BOS). The BOS winner means that the specimen came the closest to meeting the American Rabbit Breeders Standard of Perfection than any other rabbit exhibited. As with all other sports, rabbit exhibition is not without rules of disqualification. Some DQ’s are easily corrected with time, for example a broken tooth, however, others, like a missing toe nail or nails can displace the rabbit from showing permanently.

If your not into rabbits then maybe a game of Billiards is more your thing. Just make sure you use the official rules of billiards to prevent any disputes.

Fsbo sellers - Do you need an open house?
Saturday, 02 February 2008

Real estate agents frequently offer to hold an open house when a property is newly listed, but most agents will admit that an open house isn't a very successful sales strategy. Somewhere between 2% and 4% of houses listed for sale sell as the result of an open house. With such a low probability of success, Fsbo sellers must determine whether and how an open house fits into their FSBO sales plan.

So why do agents hold open houses? The open house isn't a very effective tool for selling a home, but it does bring an agent into contact with people who are looking to purchase a home. Even if the prospective homeowner isn't interested in the home being shown, they may be interested in the agent's other listings.

For both the FSBO seller and the seller who uses an agent, the question is this: if the likelihood of finding a buyer via an open house is small, should you hold one? A real estate agent's goal is to sell a house - and yours is just one of the many they have listed. As an FSBO seller, your goal is to sell your house. In either case, the chance that an open house will connect you to a firm buyer is slim, however you can still use your home as part of your successful sales strategy.

Today, nearly 8 out of 10 buyers research homes for sale using the Internet. If you list your home with an FSBO site, choose one that allows you to include a complete set of photographs and a video tour. Your prospective buyers may view your home any time of the day or night. Minimally, your photographs should show the home's exterior and the major rooms inside. This includes the kitchen, dining room, living room, family room and the bedrooms. If the home has a garage, professionally landscaped yard or other interesting features, these should be captured in photographs, too.

What about the bathroom? The debate rages over whether you should show the bathroom in photographs or not. No one will argue about the value of the bathrooms in a home, and truthfully, a bathroom can make or break a sale. For a photographic tour, however, even an outstanding shot doesn't often capture a bathroom at its best.

Bathrooms have a lot of reflective surfaces. Tile, chrome, porcelain, marble and mirrors can impair photographs. Flash units sometimes obliterate the details and distract from the overall impression you're trying to make. Unless your bathroom is something truly magnificent, you may want to hold off on putting photos of it in your tour.

A photo open house doesn't have to show your home's tiniest details. For the FSBO seller, the purpose of the photographic tour is to help prospective buyers determine whether they want to see your home in person. To that end, your photographs should be good quality images. The lighting should be sufficient to show the details of each room on the tour. Minimize the clutter in each room you photograph.

Aside from the photographs, you should provide the dimensions of each room. You don't have to post a layout of the home with the listing, but you should have one readily available for serious inquiries.

As an FSBO seller, feel free to skip the open house and refer prospective buyers to your online home tour. Instead, concentrate on creating an attractive online FSBO listing with good photographs that accentuate your home's most desirable features.

Better Porches and Patios
Thursday, 08 November 2007

The living space in your home extends to your patio and porch. Every day living as well as entertaining occurs on porches and patios so they must embody the elements of comfort, style, and beauty. Personal preferences are important but they should complement your style of life as well as your home’s style. As long as you are happy with your porch and patio then that is what is important. It is important to keep in mind the many various styles of furnishings for porches and patios that will fit your budget and complement your style. All you need to do is choose what fits your budget and style. This is the best way to create the porch and patio area you have always dreamed of. The final appearance of your porch and patio will make you happy and extend your living space.

Learning About What Causes Diabetes
Wednesday, 10 October 2007

Diabetes is one of the most serious and common diseases in the world, and whether it is you or a loved one that is suffering from the disease, in order to be able to properly manage and treat it, you need to learn about what causes diabetes. Many people mistakenly think that by eating too many sweet or sugary foods you can develop the disease, but this is actually nothing more than a myth.

The Truth

When it comes to what really causes diabetes, what happens is that when the pancreas is not able to make enough or any of the hormone known as insulin, or when the insulin that is being produced is not working effectively, this as a result causes the level of glucose in the blood to be too high and thereby the person develops diabetes.

There are two different types of diabetes: type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. There are both similarities and differences between the two types, and in type 1, the cells in the pancreas that usually work to make the insulin are destroyed, which results in causing a severe lack of insulin in the body, and this is thought to be the result of the body attacking and destroying its own cells, which in turn makes it an autoimmune reaction.

In searching for what causes diabetes, you’ll learn that although there is no single cause of type 1 diabetes, there are a few triggers that are considered to be responsible, including an infection with a specific virus or bacteria, exposure to food-borne chemical toxins, and exposure as a young infant to cow’s milk.

What causes type 2 diabetes? It develops when the receptors on the cells in the body that normally respond to the action of insulin fail to be stimulated by it, otherwise known as insulin resistance, or when the insulin that is available in the body is abnormal and therefore does not work properly.

Again there are a few different triggers of this reaction that are considered as being risk factors that increase someone’s chances of developing the disease, including increasing age, obesity, and physical inactivity.

Therefore when it comes to the matter of what really causes diabetes there is no one single answer but rather quite a few, and the only real way you can attempt to avoid developing the disease then is by keeping yourself as healthy as possible. By maintaining as generally healthy a lifestyle as possible you will not be able to avoid it for sure but you will be protecting yourself against it as much as you can.

The Benefits of a Positive Attitude
Tuesday, 02 October 2007

A person’s attitude affects every aspect of his/her life. From personal to social to business, the attitude that you present to yourself and those around you determines the quality of your life. If you want to lead a healthy and happy life, a positive attitude is essential.

Life is full of unexpected pitfalls, illnesses, and changes. Have you ever wondered how some people come through the curves life throws them seemingly without a scratch, while others faced with the same situation let their lives spiral out of control? There are many things in life that you cannot control – but the one thing that you can control that can make a huge difference in your life is your attitude. Your attitude will determine how you let things affect your life – whether your recovery from life’s setbacks will be quick and less painful or whether you let life’s setbacks control your life.

The difference between the two people in the above scenario is attitude. Although the one person experiences setbacks and challenges throughout life, having a positive attitude helps that person to overcome these events in a more productive and satisfying manner. A negative attitude causes the other person to become consumed with the bad experiences throughout his/her life and can lead to both mental and physical health problems as well as unhappiness and bitterness throughout life. Each person has control over his/her own thinking processes and can determine the outcome of his/her life by deciding whether or not he/she wants to let a positive attitude bring him/her a happy and fulfilling life or whether he/she wants to let a negative attitude consume his/her life and lead a miserable and unrewarding life.

Some of the benefits of a positive attitude include:-

Achieving goals and attaining success faster and easier

Makes your life happier

Gives you more energy

Gives you a greater sense of inner power and strength

Gives you the ability to inspire and motivate yourself and others around you

Helps you to encounter fewer difficulties – especially those that may arise from a negative attitude

People will respect you more than if you have a negative attitude

Gives you the ability to overcome difficulties more easily

Improves both you mental and physical health

Some tips for developing a positive attitude include:-

Choose to lead a happy life

Focus on the bright things in life rather than the negative

Be optimistic

Have faith in yourself and your abilities

Find reasons to smile – when you smile, others will smile with you

Surround yourself with others who are happy

Read inspiring quotes and stories

Learn to give and receive love and praise

Learn to reduce stress by using relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation

You will find that your attitude can make a difference in your entire life. A positive attitude can help you to maintain healthier personal relationships, as well as more productive work relationships. A positive attitude reduces the stress that can cause mental and physical health issues and can help you to combat illnesses that you may face. Begin your day with a smile – and carry it with you throughout the day. Not only will you feel better, but those around you will be inspired to think positively.

Which is Better -- Lump Sum Payments or Structured Settlement Payments?
Tuesday, 25 September 2007

Once upon a time, the lump sum payment was the only way that accident victims could receive their settlement money. This is a good thing for someone who wants to use the funds to make a big purchase in cash like a car or a house, for example. But lump sum payments have downsides as well. It can be hard to effectively manage a large amount of money. Many people who receive lump sum payments as part of a settlement end up fighting off greedy relatives or friends who want some of the money. Not to mention the stress that comes with finding the right financial advisor to invest and manage the money for you. The wrong choice could lead to the loss of the money you so desperately need. These days, there is an attractive alternative to the lump sum settlement and it is the structured settlement.

A structured settlement is different from a lump sum payment because it disperses the settlement money in a series of smaller payments spread out over time. This is done with the use of an annuity and offers many benefits over the lump sum payment option. For example, a structured settlement allows the injured person a steady income over a period of time. The time period that payments will be received depends on how much the settlement is and how much each individual payment is.

Structured settlements are tax-free, thanks to a law passed in the 1980's. Not only that, but they're set up to work with inflation. This means that if you add up the total of all the structured settlement payments received, it will add up to more than the total of a single lump sum payment. Another great thing about a structured settlement is that the annuity purchased gains interest over time -- interest that is tax free as mentioned before. If you were to get a lump sum payment, you would be responsible for not only investing but also paying taxes on your investments and interest.

There are, of course, benefits and drawbacks to both lump sum payments and structured settlement payments. If you're due a monetary settlement, it's important to examine these benefits and drawbacks as they relate to you before making a decision. Having trouble deciding what is best for you? First, think about how much money the settlement is. For a settlement that's not that large, a lump sum payment might work best. But for a large amount of money, a structured settlement is probably the wisest way to go. With a structured settlement, you can relax and focus on what really matters, like recovering. You can rest easy knowing that you've got a steady stream of income coming to you on a regular basis. For someone who is already dealing with the stress of a life-changing injury, the peace of mind provided by a structured settlement can be just what the doctor ordered!

Foreplay Facts that Rev Sexual Health
To have sex without foreplay is like forcing yourself to eat when you are not hungry. It's just no fun at all. Foreplay is so named because it is the fun that helps build the sexual excitement, prior to the actual sexual act. Foreplay is meant to entice, to tease and stimulate, before consumation and ultimate satisfaction. In the period of foreplay, you should take pleasure from arousing your partner to the point where they are begging you for more. This is preparing their body, their senses and their mind to be fully engaged in the sexual experience. Beside the physical elements of foreplay, there is also intellectual foreplay. When two people connect on an intellectual level, they can anticipate an enhanced sexual union. If such a connection is not present it's doubtful they can fully enjoy the sexual experience. Let's take a look at the various elements of foreplay and the many ways you can take the sexual experience to new heights.

Scuba diving certification is an absolute necessity for anyone wanting to learn to scuba dive. You'll be depending on your life with the scuba equipment, so it is vitally important that you are professionally instructed on how to use it safely and properly. Most scuba diving certification can be obtained in any major city. Such facilities provide both out of water and underwater instruction in a swimming pool. A swimming pool is not the ocean, however, so be careful where you dive next.

Sex is a Healthy Part of your Diet
Written by Chad Cook

Eating foods that contain high fat and calories have no beneficial value to the body. In fact, these foods will eventually leave you feeling sluggish, tired, and unhealthy. Most people feel that their sex life is much the same way. Experiencing orgasms and the pleasure from the sexual experience, affects the mental and physical health in both positive and negative ways. If you eat foods that are not good for your body, the body will not function to your liking. The same will happen if you neglect the sexual aspect of your body. The sexual experience profoundly affects a person completely in mind, soul, and body. You feel energized. You feel happy, as if you can do anything and the world is at your feet. There are times though, that you are exhausted and sex is the farthest thing from your minds. Your life will suffer greatly if you continue to think of sex as something you will get to when you feel like it. If you continue to live in this fashion, it will become more difficult to put the fire back in your intimate life. Just as when you let your body decline, the harder it is to get them back in shape. It takes a lot of dedication and hard work.

Disabled not dead - How People Overcome Disabilities for Sexual Health
Written by Chad Cook
Sunday, 11 March 2007
There is a prevalent myth, commonly believed in society, that when a person is disabled, the satisfaction of sexual experience which may have been enjoyed in the past, is no longer possible. This is not generally so. Many people are disabled in some manner and continue to enjoy the intimacy and good feelings that come from being with a partner. A vital aspect of therapy for a disabled individual is recovering their self assurance and sexual identity. To learn again that they are a sexual person and not just a person with a disability, is an important part of their individuality.

Written by Chad Cook
Sunday, 17 December 2006
Crabs (pubic lice) are parasites that gravitate to the pubic region of the body, but will settle for any hair they find. These lice though, seem to shun the hair on top of our heads. They have no preference as to whether you are a woman or a man. Crabs are big enough to be seen if you look for them. A person who is infected with scabies can inadvertently pass them on to someone else. You do not need to have sexual intercourse to become infested.

FAQs on HIV - Current AIDS Information Revisited

What is Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS): This sexually transmitted disease is both chronic and often fatal. The disease attacks the immunodeficiency virus (HIV). When this occurs, one has no capacity to fight disease and infections. The immune system breaks down. The term AIDS is commonly used in reference to a patient going through the latter stages of the HIV infection. This infection is not contracted only through sexual partners. Those who share intravenous drugs are at risk, as are unborn children who can contract it from an infected mother. It can be passed to the baby through the umbilical cord as well as through breast feeding.

Chlamydia - A Rising Trend in Teen Sex Lives

One can now buy an at-home test for chlamydia, which is an especially good thing for adolescents because a teenager is highly unlikely to make a doctor's visit to find out if they have this sexually transmitted disease. It is hard enough being a teenager with all the accompanying pressures. Teenagers embarrass easily and the sheer thought of having possibly contracted a disease rates right up there with all the other things they are not about to tell any adult. Because they are likely to avoid seeing a doctor when they they should, chlamydia will only get worse.

Blue Balls a Myth or a Real Medical Condition?
Written by Chad Cook
Monday, 04 September 2006

Yes, it is indeed a true medical condition. Most men are quite familiar with this term and have had the unfortunate experience of this condition. Women on the other hand assume it is a myth they are supposed to believe in order to be sympathetic to a man's needs. Blue Balls is a real life medical condition that occurs when semen becomes blocked. It is no longer located in the testes but it has not yet left the penis. While this is an uncomfortable and often painful experience it is not life threatening nor is it a permanent condition. As the blood flow to the penis subsides so will the discomfort.
